Bicol: A Place for Surprises
Bicol is an administrative region in the Philippines. As one of the 17 regions in the country, it is arguably the most exciting and holds the most surprises. The geography of the region is considered the reason behind this. Its six provinces are tightly knit, so you can easily hop from one province to another and experience whatever each has to offer. Pilgrimages are held here throughout the year, but the Peñafrancia festival is when pilgrims flock to this province the most. Held every September, it commemorates the patron, Our Lady of Peñafrancia.
At the time of July, the Katalingkasan Festival is celebrated. This is where town fiestas are held simultaneously across all towns in Libon. The highlight of the entire region though is the Bicol Food festival, an annual celebration of good Bicolano taste.
