philippines hotel booking

The world has an array of flavors to offer, so why should you limit yourself to one? On your trip to the Philippines, aside from indulging in Filipino food, try our other restaurants that specialize on foreign menus as well.

American- T.G.I.F. (Thank God It's Friday)

It's a bit pricey, but it's worth it. T.G.I.F. makes every meal a celebration. This restaurant has become popular among youngsters as well as families because their juicy steak that I can't get enough of, and their grilled burgers.

The festive aura of the place, which resembles a restaurant during the 80's, makes eating a fun and entertaining experience. The food is good to share, but I also know people who are able to eat one whole plateful.

Their fillet mignon is my regular favorite. It costs around a thousand pesos so I usually choose to split it with my mom or with my sister.

They have branches at TriNoma, Edsa North Ave.; and Glorietta, Makati. To know more about the restaurant, visit http://www.fridays.com.ph.

Budget is around: Php 400.00 and up/ person

Amici (Italian Cuisine)

Italian food was never this affordable for me until this restaurant opened in the Philippines. It offers a range of familiar Italian favorites such as pasta, pizza, and of course the famous tiramisu. The restaurant is very casual and fast food like but the food is fantastic.

Their Al Quatro Pormagi (Four Cheese Pizza) is so good; it will make you forget about your diet. Their tiramisu, on the other hand, is a steal. Your wallet won't have to go hungry for second slices of this dessert because it only costs less than a hundred pesos per slice and around Php 700.00 for the whole cake.

They have outlets at SM Megamall, Mandaluyong, and Tomas Morato, Quezon City.

Budget is around: Php 200.00 – Php 500.00/ person

CYMA (Greek Cuisine)

This restaurant has introduced me to a tasty world of authentic Greek flavors and spices. I can almost hear the waves of the Greek waters whenever I eat here because of the Grecian look of the place and of course, the food.

Should you decide to visit this restaurant, don't forget to try their Saganaki as your appetizer (flaming cheese dish). It will be an experience you'll never forget. I usually eat there with my family. The food there is good for sharing, depending of course on your appetite.

For my main course, I usually have a bit of Moussaka (a mixture of pork, beaf and eggplant mixed with bechamel sauce and cheese), Solomos Angel Hair (salmon pasta), and Baby Clams Angel Hair (clam-based sauce mixed with white wine, lemon and cheese); all of which I share with my family of four.

You can see their branches at TriNoma, EDSA North Ave. and Glorietta, Makati. For more information, visit http://cymarestaurants.com.

Budget is around: Php 300.00- Php 600.00 /person

Miraj Persian Grill

Its only branch is at B.F. Parañaque but going there to eat is worth it. The restaurant offers a variety of beef and chicken kebabs; as well as a variety of shawarmas- beef, chicken, which are offered, mixed with a variety of ingredients (similar to Mexico's burritos).

During Monday- Thursday, the restaurant opens from the start of evening; 6:00 pm to the wee hours of the morning; 2:00 am. From Friday - Saturday, it extends to 3:00 am, and during Sunday, it closes at 12:00 am.

Casa Armas Tapas Bar y Restaurante (Spanish Cuisine)

Treat yourself to a Spanish dish. Go have a fiesta (celebration) with your family and friends at Casa Armas Restaurant. The Spanish' love for parties is reflected in their food.

Paella; now a world renowned Spanish dish, is one of the restaurant's specialties. Try their Paella Marinara (seafood paella) and their Al Vinto Tinto (chicken breast in red wine).

The restaurant is high-end and a little bit on the expensive side but it's worth it. You can visit the restaurant at The Podium, Mandaluyong and at TriNoma Edsa, North Ave; and at Greenbelt (3), Makati.

Budget is around: Php 400.00 and up/ person

Silk Thai (Thai Cuisine)

Thai food is always appealing when I'm really, really hungry because like Filipino food, it's usually served with rice. Uniquely enough, Thai food has its own set of peculiar flavors that are usually on the spicy side.

I suggest having trying- Gai Sateh (chicken satay; which is peanut-flavored chicken), Phad Thai (fried noodles), as well as one of their curry dishes (beef, chicken, etc.). Silk Thai is located at Bonifacio High Street, Taguig.

Budget is around: Php 500.00/ person

Chili's Bar and Grill (Mexican Cuisine)

Nachos, anyone? One of the more famous Mexican Restaurants in the Philippines, Chili's Bar and Grill offers Mexican snacks and meals off the grill.

Such meals are - fried cheese (cheese sticks), classic nachos, and of course flamed grilled rib-eye. Their delicious beef salpicao (stir-fried garlic beef) is also good.

They have branches at Greenbelt (5), Makati; Greenhills Shopping Center, San Juan and at Tomas Morato, Quezon City.

Pho Hoa (Vietnamese Cuisine)

After visiting Vietnam, I took a bit of it with me back to the Philippines. This is why I can be caught craving for their famous, healthy, Vietnamese cuisine. I actually feel healthier after eating here because of a ton of oil-free products that they offer.

Their fresh spring rolls are a winner. What looks like a sushi roll is actually a mixture of carrots, pork, lettuce, etc. wrapped in with rice paper. I usually eat it as an appetizer, but it can also serve as a snack depending on your appetite.

Their noodle soup is a breath of fresh air because of its unique blend of Vietnamese spices. Try their beef noodle soup or their seafood noodle soup.

For more information including where their branches are located, go to http://www.phohoa.ph.

Super Bowl of China (Chinese)

Dumplings, noodles, and deep-fried sesame balls has China's mark on them. Chinese cuisine is definitely known for their sauces and spices. It's always a pleasure to eat Chinese cuisine and indulge in a menu which consists of flavor rich meals.

When it comes to Chinese dishes, I usually want Chinese food that is either fried or roasted, though the restaurant also offers steamed and soup-based products. My favorites in this restaurant are – Super Bowl Lemon Chicken, Sweet and Sour Fish Fillet, and Sauteed Mixed Vegetables.

Aside from the memorable time I have with my family, another thing that sticks to my head is the good food that the restaurant offers.

I recommend trying their Smoked Salmon Canapes, and Angus Beef Tenderloin Steak. The restaurant can be seen at Bonifacio High Street, Taguig; Rockwell, Makati; and at Citibank Tower, Paseo de Rosas, Makati.
